Currently as at 6.55am Wednesday 9 October, a bushfire is burning near the Bruce Highway, Barretts Road and Pig Creek, Cherwell. The fire is now contained and crews will continue to monitor the blaze throughout the day. 

Smoke may impact the Bruce Highway and firefighters will be working alongside the road, so motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. 

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.

This fire broke out earlier today and is posing no threat to property at this time. Crews are working to contain the fire, and smoke may affect nearby areas.
