Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a grass fire burning in inaccessible land near Burnby Road, Hemmant. The earlier structure fire has been extinguished and there is no threat to property at this time. Nearby areas may be affected by a smoke haze throughout the night and into tomorrow. Residents are advised to close windows and doors and those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep their medications close by. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions as smoke can decrease visibility on the road. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a structure fire at Burnby Road, Hemmant, which has spread to surrounding grassland. This fire broke out earlier this afternoon and is not threatening any other properties at this time. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze but nearby areas may be affected by a smoke haze throughout the afternoon. Residents are advised to close windows and doors and those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep their medications close by.
