Ormeau – factory fire as at 11am Fri 17 Sept 

Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) crews remain on scene at a factory fire on Lahrs Road, Ormeau. Firefighters brought the fire under control late Thursday night and are continuing to dampen down hot spots today. Atmospheric testing was undertaken throughout the incident and air quality was deemed to be safe at all times, however smoke may continue to affect the area throughout the day. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions. Nearby residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medication close by if required.

Ormeau – factory fire as at 9.35pm Thurs 16 Sept 

Multiple Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) crews are on scene at a factory fire on Lahrs Road, Ormeau. The fire broke out about 8pm and crews are currently working to contain the blaze. They are expected to be on scene throughout the night. Smoke is affecting the Pacific Motorway, between exits 38 and 41. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions. Nearby residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medication close by.
