Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are monitoring a bushfire burning near Churchill Mine Road and Maryborough Hervey Bay Road, Walliebum. This fire is burning within containment lines and is posing no threat to property at this time. Walliebum residents may be affected by a smoke haze over the weekend. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. Six Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a bushfire burning near Churchill Mine Road and Maryborough Hervey Bay Road, Walliebum. This fire broke out around 12.30pm and is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze and are conducting back burning in the area. Walliebum residents may be affected by a smoke haze throughout the day. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.
